6 Steps to Your First AI Win
Open Claude
Go to claude.ai in your browser and sign in with your work email. No download or install needed.
Pick a task you already have
Don't practice with fake examples. Think of a real email you need to send, a report you're behind on, or a document you've been putting off.
Find a matching prompt
Go to the Prompt Library and pick a template that matches your task. Copy it with one click.
Fill in the brackets
Every prompt has [BRACKETED] fields. Replace them with your actual details — the more context you give, the better the output.
Paste and send
Paste the filled-in prompt into Claude and hit Enter. Read the output, then ask for changes — "make it shorter," "change the tone," "add more detail."
Save and share
When the output is right, copy it to your document, email, or report. Save useful conversations for reference.
What AI Can Do

Your First Prompt — Walkthrough
Let's send your first real prompt to Claude. We'll use the Professional Email Writer as an example.
Copy the prompt
Go to the Prompt Library, find "Professional Email Writer" and click Copy.
Open Claude
Go to claude.ai and start a new conversation.
Paste and fill in
Paste the prompt, then replace each [BRACKET] with your real info. For example: Who I am: Project Manager. Who I am emailing: homeowner Mrs. Johnson.
Send and review
Hit Enter. Read Claude's output. It probably won't be perfect on the first try — that's normal.
Iterate
Ask for changes in the same thread: "Make the tone warmer," "Add a sentence about timeline," "Shorten to 3 paragraphs." This is where the magic happens.
